Mobile Learning: Exploring Chicago's Historic Cemeteries

This video presents an interesting way to use mobile devices and make students look at their phones in a new way and think in new ways about technology. In the video, Jane Baxter, Assoc. Prof. of Anthropology at DePaul University, explains how she integrates mobile learning into her Discover and Explore Chicago classes by having students use their phones and the Evernote app to take written notes, record audio clips, and take geotagged pictures to produce a tour map of a historic cemetery.  Watch video...

Diana Oblinger Lecture: The Beginning of Something Big: IT and the Post–Traditional World

Dr. Oblinger is President and CEO of EDUCAUSE, serves on a variety of boards including the American Council on Education (ACE) and DuraSpace, and currently serves as chair of the Washington Higher Education Secretariat. She is a frequent keynote speaker as well as the co-author of the award-winning book What Business Wants from Higher Education. In addition, she is the editor or co-editor of eight books, including The Learning Revolution, The Future Compatible Campus, and Renewing Administration. Dr. Oblinger has received outstanding teaching and research awards and was named Young Alumnus of the Year by Iowa State University from where she also graduated with her bachelor's, master's, and PhD degrees. Additionally, Dr. Oblinger holds three honorary degrees.
